Air Comfort's origins date back to 1998 when trading as Airgonomic Seating Systems they became a market leader in specialist seating for the Healthcare Industry. In 2002 the principal of Airgonomic Seating Systems (Peter Smith) formed a partnership with Jim Mc Cann and formed Mc Cann Smith Seating Systems with a range of pressure reducing seating products branded Air Comfort.

In 2005 Air Comfort was acquired by Hills Industries and became a Hills Healthcare Brand.

Air Comfort products are now distributed throughout Australia, South East Asia, Canada and the United Kingdom.
